We are praying for spring around here! Ben loves to be outside, and it's so pleasant when the weather is just right.

Ben is having a good time "pretending" now, and he loves to be scared. He will set up imaginary scenarios where a monster is chasing us or it will be a ferocious animal of some sort. We hide and squeal on cue. The best situation is when it's a "monster" animal - like "monster turtle" or "monster octopus". He is hilarious. He loves to pretend to drink his bath water and will say, "It nummy, Mama!" (It's yummy, Mama).

He loves to run and say, "I'm super fast!" He dances every night after his bath water drains by holding on to the safety bar and doing what I call the river dance. He'll say, "Sing, Mama" and then request a tune. Since I am constantly singing (and dancing), it's no surprise that he has a proclivity for this.

He also tends to be bossy. Again, not surprising since he sees me in action all the time. The girls at daycare call him the Chairman of the Board. I am appalled and proud at the same time.

Ben loves puzzles, and his spatial reasoning seems to be really good. We still can't tell if he is right handed or left handed. He uses both equally. He loves to draw and paint, especially with chalk and dry erase markers. He is awesome at kicking and dribbling a ball with his feet. I think soccer is in his future.

He is learning to play jokes on people. His favorite is pooting and then blaming it on someone else! He will poot and say,"Daddy did it!" while laughing hysterically. This is super embarrassing in public.

Ben knows all of his letters and numbers. He can count to 10 (sometimes to 20). He can identify all of his letters and numbers in isolation, not just in order. That's better than most kindergarteners that I know. He knows all of his shapes and colors,  and he is very interested in what all of the letters can spell. Overall I'm sure he's the smartest 29-month-old who ever lived!

Potty training is still a work in progress. He does great at daycare - probably the peer pressure. We are letting him go without pants on the weekend when we are at home to train him. It seems like a great idea until your rug has a puddle on it. But this is part o growing up. He will get the hang of it.

Here are some more things he loves:
Chocolate or vanilla ice cream ("chocnilla")
Broccoli
Olives
Lettuce
Salmon
Grapes
Bananas
Apples (with skin)
Cheese
His doggie (stuffed dog from our neighbors)
His Bumble
Putting money in his piggy bank "feed the pig"
Going to the grocery store
Dinosaurs
Yo Gabba Gabba
Scooby Doo
Tom and Jerry (that show is really kind of violent, though?)
Twirling in circles
Building "towers" of anything and then knocking them down
