Nothing much new around here - just talking and playing and enjoying the fall weather. Halloween was fun. Ben dressed as Elmo and visited a few houses. We set up an elaborate scheme to scare the kids who came to our house. It was hilarious, and Ben loved it.

Ben had his 2-year checkup, and the doctor said he is a fine specimen! He is in the 25%ile for weight and the 80%ile for height. She was amazed by how well he talks. She said a typical child his age has a 30-word vocabulary. Well, Ben used more than 30 words during the short visit in her office!
He continues to be a "happy and well-adjusted young 'un" according to my mama. Here are some of his favorite things to say/do/eat:
"I like it! I like it"
"I won't want it!" As he pushes away the offending item
"I pooted" (he is a man)
"Daddy silly" (yes, he is)
"I can't reach it"
"Mine! Mine!"
"I want trick a treat" (that's what he calls candy)
"I counting" and he can count to ten but sometimes skips four
"That a heaby punkin" when he sees our neighbor's big pumpkin that he tried and failed to pick up
"Do it, Mama" This phrase is sometimes met with displeasure depending on his tone. He's quite bossy so we have to remind him to use his manners.
"I do it" (usually said loudly in frustration
when someone tries to help him)
He is wearing underpants on the weekends for long stretches of time with almost no accidents. He likes to use his potty so I hope we'll have him toilet-trained in a couple of months.
He loves milkshakes.
He loves bacon.
He loves to read his books.
He loves anything to do with animals, especially those that ROAR!
He loves to scare us and be scared.
He loves to build tunnels out of blankets and pillows.
He loves puzzles and is very good at them.
Yo Gabba Gabba is very popular in our house right now.
Here are some recent pics;
